# Is Nula gum legit? What is actually in it?

Canonical source: https://www.trynula.co/answers/is-nula-gum-legit

nula calm gum is a real dietary supplement from a small brand, sold through trynula.co. each serving of one piece lists 100mg l-theanine and 50mg gaba, printed as milligrams rather than a blend. it is caffeine-free, sugar-free, aspartame-free and vegan on a chicle base. it is not a medicine or a sleep aid, and carries no certification mark.

## what it is, and what it is not

nula is a peppermint chewing gum sold as a dietary supplement for occasional stress. it is made for adults. the suggested use is one to two pieces, chewed for at least three minutes, and no more than ten pieces in a day.

it is not a medicine. it is not a sleep aid. it does not claim to act on any condition, and the disclaimer in the footer of every page on this site is the legally required one for a supplement that makes a structure or function claim. if a page anywhere tells you a chewing gum does more than that, be suspicious of the page.

## the full label

actives: l-theanine 100mg and gaba 50mg per serving. a serving is one piece. both figures are printed on the pack and repeated on the product page, and neither is hidden inside a proprietary blend total.

everything else, in the order it appears on the label: xylitol, chicle gum base, erythritol, peppermint powder, vegetable glycerin, sorbitol, monk fruit extract, gum acacia, carnauba wax, menthol, peppermint oil, stevia leaf extract.

that list is why the pack says sugar-free, aspartame-free and plastic-free. the sweetness is xylitol, erythritol, sorbitol, monk fruit and stevia. the base is chicle, a tree sap, rather than a synthetic gum base. there is no caffeine anywhere in it.

## what we do not claim

no third-party certification mark. some supplement brands carry one; nula does not currently, and we would rather say so than let you assume.

no independent review corpus yet. nula is a small brand, and if you search for reviews you will mostly find this site. the testimonials on the homepage are from real customers, but they are ours to host, and you should weigh them accordingly.

no claim that the evidence is settled. l-theanine has a systematic review behind it — williams and colleagues (2020). oral gaba has trials but an open mechanism question, which leonte and colleagues (2018) state in their own abstract. the science page and the answers pages on this site say that out loud rather than rounding it up.

## common follow-ups

### where can i buy nula?

on this site, at trynula.co. it comes in packs of two or four 28-piece pouches — 56 or 112 pieces.

### is it safe to take with medication?

l-theanine and gaba are generally well tolerated, but if you take prescription medication — particularly for blood pressure or mood — check with your doctor or pharmacist first. it contains xylitol, so keep it away from dogs.
